These fighters need to appear in the next 'Mortal Kombat' movie
The long-awaited reboot of "Mortal Kombat" released in theaters and on HBO Max on April 23. Fan favorites such as Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax, Sub-Zero and Scorpion made their appearances and showed off their iconic fighting moves that have been canon to the series.
Fans were also introduced to a new character, Cole Young, who also served as the main protagonist of the movie. However, there were some other fan favorites that were left out in this movie.
*** Spoilers ahead ***
The ending of the movie left fans hints which fighters will make an appearance in the second movie. We know for sure that the two characters appearing in the sequel are Johnny Cage because of the poster shown at the end of the movie, and Noob Saibot because of the story tied into Bi-Han after he is killed as Elder Sub-Zero. Heck, we could even see younger Sub-Zero.
However, the movie left fans wondering who might make an appearance in the second installment. The official Mortal Kombat tournament has yet to begin, and Raiden and Shang Tsung were left to recruit more members to compete. But I think I have a clue which fighters should appear in the sequel.
Before we get into it, here are the list of fighters who appeared in the latest movie:
Cole Young
Sonya Blade
Kano
Raiden
Jax
Liu Kang
Shang Tsung
Sub-Zero/Bi-Han
Scorpion/Hanzo Hasashi
Kung Lao
Mileena
Kabal
Goro
Reiko
Nitara (thought was so random)
Here are five "Mortal Kombat" characters that should appear in the next movie and would make sense due to the movie's current storyline.
Kitana
Kitana not appearing in this movie was a bit of a shocker. Although in the video games she isn't introduced until the second one, she has so many ties with characters that appeared in this movie such as Mileena and Liu Kang that we would think we would get some sort of hint that she's there or will appear in the second movie. Crossing the fingers that we see Kitana in her blue ninja outfit throwing those sharp fans.
Cyrax

The cybernetic ninja was first introduced in the third installment of the video games. His backstory with the Lin Kuei could make sense to bring the character into the next movie. Of course in general, it would be great to see a robot ninja duking it out again in real life and seeing his awesome movies and fatalities like the green net and self destruct.
Sheeva

We got to see Goro in action, how about his female counterpart? Although I have a feeling writers of the movie will give us Motaro instead (and let's be honest, no one really cares about Kintaro), I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to throw in Sheeva too like they did in "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" just to please the fans. Here's hoping that we get to see her stomping on Earthrealm fighters.
Reptile

We got a tease from the reptile ninja when Shang Tsung sent Syzoth to assassinate Blade, Young and Kano. However, we only saw Syzoth in actual lizard form. But, don't be surprised if we see a similar return of the lizard as ninja form, somewhat we're expecting with Bi-Han returning as Noob Saibot. The trinity of the original ninjas needs to be complete!
Sindel

I know Sindel might be a longshot due to the current storyline, but would be great to see the queen with the powerful hair whip and loud scream. Not to mention, would make sense to introduce her as the mother of Kitana and Mileena before what happens to her due to Shao Khan's attempt to take over Earthrealm.
Honorable mentions
Tanya
Shinnok

Jade
Ermac
Frost

Who are you hoping to see in the next "Mortal Kombat" movie? Or who would make more sense making an appearance?
Flawless Victory.
